Jumanji Board

Started carving the wooden sides today- Just gonna do the 3 different sizes and then mould them (because why not).

Also got round to making a stencil for the actual playing board. Going to get cracking on sculpting it out of plastelline tomorrow. I fear it will be a lengthy process. But it’s looking good so far.

thanks ๐Ÿ™‚ sure. I melted the plastelline with a heat gun first- makes it to a consistency a bit like butter. I spread it out with a wooden spatula, as evenly as I could get it. I tried to get it at approximately 3mm. Then left it to solidify for about an hour. It goes back to being quite hard- much easier to work with. I drew each design on to tracing paper first, so I laid it over the plastelline sheet and used a pin to punch through the lines into the plastelline. That enables you to take the tracing paper away and see the design in dots. Then I used a tiny metal tool with a flat end to scratch away the areas I did not want. Sculpting by subtraction really. To neaten up the clay afterwards I brushed white spirit over the top- it melts the clay a tiny bit and gets rid of small dents and bumps.

Hope this is helpful and makes sense!
      Thanks for your interest ๐Ÿ™‚
